Christmas in Action Oakland County
CIA is the locally based affiliate dedicated to providing FREE Home Repairs for low-income seniors and handicapped elderly home. Through community partnerships and volunteerism CIA is able to complete these repairs the last Saturday each April.
Lions Clubs International
Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 202 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Known for working to end preventable blindness, In 1925, Helen Keller challenged Lions to become "knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness" during the association's international convention. Today, Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Lions demonstrate their commitment to sight conservation through eyeglass recycling, sight partnerships and countless other sight services. Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities.The Waterford District holds an annual pumpkin and nut sale to to help fund these programs.
Media Network of Waterford (Channel 10)
The non-profit Media Network of Waterford hired through the township to operate the public access Channel 10. Media Network offers residents of Waterford the opportunity to produce non-commercial television programming free of charge. To encourage the exchange of ideas and information, free workshops are available in television production, editing, graphics audio and camera operations.
Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency
OLHSA is one of 30 Michigan Community Action Agencies. Community Action Agencies are the nationâs largest federally assisted network of organizations whose sole purpose is to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty.
Open Door Outreach Center, Inc.
Open Door has been open since 1980, has a food pantry providing food for over 200 families each month. They also provide clothing and small household items as well as referral services. When funding is available, we provide crisis funding for evictions, utility shutoffs, prescriptions, auto repairs, etc. Open Door serves the communities of White Lake, Waterford, Commerce, Walled Lake, a portion of Wixom, West Bloomfield, Sylvan Lake and Keego Harbor.
Rescued Treasures Thrift Stores
The role of Rescued Treasures thrifts stores is to turn your material donations into treasures for resale. All proceeds directly benefit the 200 men, women and children who permanently reside at Grace Centers of Hope, Oakland Countyâs oldest and largest homeless shelter and treatment center.
The Rotary Club of Waterford focuses on applying the foundations of Rotary International to our local and global community. Members focus on humanitarian service, applying high ethical professional standards, and promoting improved health, peace, and goodwill. The club offers opportunities for collaborating with local professionals and educators, as well as personal and professional leadership development. Weekly meetings are held at the Waterford Parks and Recreation building (2303 Crescent Lake Road, Waterford) on Tuesdays at 12:10 pm. Waterford Coalition for Youth
Established in 1994, the Waterford Coalition for Youth is a non-profit organization that strives to promote a safe and healthy way of life for youth in the community of Waterford, Michigan. Waterford Coalition is dedicated to connecting all sectors in our community as we are all affected by each other.
Waterford Foundation for Public Education
The Foundation exists only to promote and recognize excellence in teaching and learning. Funding for projects, ranging from district wide music and arts programs to modestly budgeted classroom literacy activities, are provided by the Foundation. The Foundation's support is meant to supplement and complement Waterford School District funding, not to supplant it.
Waterford Township Historical Society
The Historical Society protects, preserves and conserves the history of Waterford Township for present and future generations. They house artifacts at 4490 Hatchery Rd in the Fish Hatchery Park where they are on display. A Turn of the Century Village which was begun in 1996 is under construction at the same location.
Waterford Youth Assistance
Waterford Youth Assistance is an organization directy by citizen volunteers who are guided by professional staff. Waterford Youth Assisntance's purpose is to help strengthen youth and families and to prevent and reduce juvenile delinquency, child neglect and child abuse by providing posistive alternatives.
